Spalted Pieces
As wood starts its process of decay, it is invaded by various organisms. Among them are fungi, which produce
spectacular pigmented tracks of their journeys through the wood. This process is called spalting. The best woods for
exhibiting this phenomenon are beech, maple and birch. Some woods such as cherry don't spalt at all. Enjoy nature!
