Ultimate Ice Cream Bowls
Most often we associate the eating of ice cream with the
hot days of summer but I enjoy my ice cream year round.
Here in Vermont it is said that we have 10 months of
winter and two months of poor sledding. So, when it is cold
and I still would enjoy the taste of a bowl of Mint Chocolate
Chip or Maple Walnut I pull my Black Cherry Ultimate Ice
Cream Bowl out of the cupboard, load it with the flavor of
the week and head out to the living room in front of my
wood burning stove. These ice cream bowls aren't
designed to be used at a table but rather held in your
hand.

Perhaps, rather than
Ultimate Ice Cream Bowls,  I
should call these 'Nicole Bowls' for it was she who gave
me this great idea. I had sent Nicole, my soon to be
daughter in law, a small wooden bowl a few years ago.
When I saw the obviously well used bowl next to the
kitchen sink my curiosity led me to question her about it.
She said that it was the only bowl that allowed her to eat
her favorite food (read ice cream) without her hand
getting cold!

The idea that wood, being an insulator, could so enhance
the pleasurable, sensual experience of eating ice cream
from a hand held bowl was an interesting revelation.

Four years  of product development led to the current and
final version of the
Ultimate Ice Cream Bowl.  Each bowl
is turned from a single piece of carefully selected
American Black Cherry
 The bottom is finely smoothed
and rounded to fit your hand perfectly. The bottom is left
thick to further insulate your hand and prevent warming of
the ice cream.  The grooves within a groove are
positioned to allow secure gripping. The bowls are
finished with food safe walnut oil which can be reapplied at
any time to restore the natural color of the wood.
With proper care your personalized bowl should last a
lifetime.

Please note:  No two bowls are exactly alike and sizes are
approximate.
